For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." John 3:16-17

Glass Roads presents a book tour
of
River's Call
by

ISBN: 9781426712678
Paperback, 315 pages

My Thought:

I have not read the first book in this series "The Inn at Shinning Waters" but this one is interesting on its own.
Lauren is a confused teenager and she does not want to do anything that her mother Anna ask her to do.  As the 1960s was a hard time for anyone, Lauren chooses to go and live with her grandmother, but her grandmother was a very manipulative woman so Lauren goes back home to her mother.
They were of the Native American heritage and they lived by the river and in the inn called "Shining Waters".  Anna worries that her young daughter will never be a responsible woman if she continues to do as she is doing now.  The three generations of the women are headed for a crisis and don't know how to handle it.
The land once belonged to the Siuslaw and it has always been handed down to the women in the tribe instead of the men, so soon Lauren will be the owner, but it stays in the family.
I have got to buy the first book that came out in this series so I can really understand all that is going on.
Thanks so much to Glass Roads for sending me this book in exchange for my review.

Need You Now" is Beth Wiseman's first book outside the Amish secter. I have read so many of her books and loved everyone of them. This one is not exception.  BookSneeze provided me with this complimentary paperback book.

As Darlene and her husband Brad struggle to raise three teenagers, they move from Houston to Round Top, Texas to a farm left to Darlene by her grandparents, but the house needed a lot of repair. The move did not go well with the children and expecially for their middle child Grace who is fifteen. She was trying to deal with her stress and depression, so she became a cutter.

(I had never heard of this so I looked it up and this is what I found, One who cuts themselves to releive themselves from an emotional pain.
Cutting is not something one advertises, and when someone does cut they are generally ashamed and hide it as well as they can.
Can be done with any sharp object, such as, but not limited to, knives, razors, broken glass, broken cd's, scissors, and safety pins.)
Now back to the story, The move and the problem with their daughter begin to take a toll on their marriage and expecially when Darlene desides to take a job outside the home. They wondered if their faith was going to see them through so they begin to doubt that also. She needed to get away and make some friends and then Darlene begin to receive too much attention from a father of the sutistic young girl she was assigned too in the school for special needs children. She really needed God now, as she and her husband Brad was having issues and the man's attention was very hard to ignore.

Product Description:

In 1866 Colorado, Ethan Kincaid agrees to a marriage of convenience with the same casual disregard he gives every decision. Audra Gilliland, young mother of two, accepts his proposal because she wants to stop being a burden to her newly married stepdaughter. And suddenly both of them are in far deeper than they'd planned.Ethan doesn't expect Audra to affect him so profoundly, and when she begins to, he's terrified of the pain he's felt before when someone he loved was seriously injured on his watch. He's determined that his new wife will do as he says so he can keep her safe from the dangers that lurk on their ranch.
Audra has been cared for all her life by one man or another--and they've done a poor job of it. Now she's planning to stand up for herself. And her new husband had better agree or get out of her way!

The Author Mary Connealy

Mary Connealy writes "romantic comedy with cowboys" for the inspirational market. She is the author of the bestselling LASSOED IN TEXAS, MONTANA MARRIAGES, and SOPHIE'S DAUGHTERS series. Her novel Cowboy Christmas won the Carol Award for Historical Romance, and Calico Canyon was a Christy Award finalist. She lives on an eastern Nebraska ranch with her husband, Ivan, and has four grown daughters.

MY THOUGHT:

When I see the author is Mary Connealy I grab the book is I can, she is an alsome author and I really love her work.  This series "The Kincaid Brides" is no different.

Audra is a young widow that was not sad at all of her dirty smelling husband's demise.  She had a three year old little daugher and a four week old one.  She was now living in the shack with her sister and her newly married husband Rafe.  She had no where else to go but where they had build their home was near a mine with many channels.  When her little girl went missing they tracked her into the mine where she had went with Seth the unstable minded brother of Rafe and Ethan.  She was found and now Audra was ready to move away from her sister's house to keep her children safe.  Ethan and Seth were going to go back to their old home place and Julia (her sister) and Rafe was really not sad to see all of them go as they were just newly weds.

Audra was not going to go live in a house with two unmarried men so Rafe talked her and Ethan into getting married.  The little girl already called him daddy so she was very happy.

Audra's dead husband had been in too stelling money so she was so afraid they would come after her thinking she knew where he had it hid.  She had no idea but will this keep her and the children safe?

After such a rocky start in their married life, I believe that Ethan and Audra will finally fall in love with each other once they begin to trust the other.  Both had grown up with an unstable past as Ethan, Seth and Rafe had, had to raise themselves as their mother just didn't care or she was sick as she sit with her head down all the time, so Rafe was the eldest and he did all he knew how to help his brothers.  Audra had been traded to a man that her father own money too and before he had died she had two children.  She felt as though she was not going to let any man ever boss her around anymore.

Just a great series to read and enjoy.  Thanks so much to Behtany House for sending me this book free and I chose to review it.

In this book, the horses are being shot and no one has any idea who may be doing it.  Sadie is still devoted to her horse and rides even though there is trouble.  Dorothy that works at the Aspen Rance tries to get her to understand that she made just ride into trouble on her horse, but Sadie will not listen.
When Daniel appears from Lancaster County, everyone likes him as he is so well mannered and loves his family.  But Mark whom Sadie already knows has so many secrets and no one can find out what they are.

As in the first book, this one also is about the Amish and horses, so if you love horses then this is the book for you.  As there are so many Amish books and authors out there, all of them did not grow up as an Amish and still followed that faith.  Linda Byler is just such an author, so you know she really know how they work and worship.

BLOG TOUR from Tribute Books
of
SHORE  EXCURSION

ISBN: 9781603818742
Paperback, 219 pages
Camelpress

                                                                                                     Marie Moore
Summary:Travel agents are a vanishing breed, but Sidney Marsh, a New York transplant from Mississippi, is holding her ground--at least on land. She is the tour leader on a cruise through Scandinavia for a group of eccentric senior citizens who call themselves the High Steppers. Sidney expects her days to be filled with long meals, shopping expeditions and visits to museums, churches and fjords. But this cruise is anything but routine. There is a killer on board, targeting the High Steppers and quite possibly herself.

After the first suspicious death, the captain and his crew are grimly determined to carry on as usual. Disgusted with their inaction, Sidney decides to take matters into her own hands and launch her own investigation. She enlists the halfhearted help of her friend and business partner, the flamboyant and fun-loving Jay Wilson. Suspects abound. What about those two handsome young men who stay mysteriously aloof? One of them has his eye on Sidney. So does
                                                                                                         http://www.mariemooremysteries.com/

another passenger, far too charming and again too young to fit the "High Stepper" mold. Then there's Captain Vargos, the arrogant ladies' man whose plans to thwart Sidney's investigation might include seduction.

Who is that crew member shadowing Sidney? Is the theater really haunted? Even the High Steppers themselves are not as predictable or harmless as they seem. The closer Sydney gets to the truth, the less she understands. Shore Excursion is the first book in a new mystery series featuring amateur sleuth Sidney Marsh.

My Thoughts:

I love a good mystery and this debut mystery of Marie Moore is just that.
On a cruise ship full of seniors Sidney Marsh thought that she would be always seeing sights and shopping with them but she found that this cruise was everything but!  She found herself trying to protect the older people alone with herself as there was a murderer on board and no one knew when he might hit again,

After the first suspicious death the crew of the ship tried to carry on as though nothing had happened but Sidney was not satisfied with just sitting and now trying to find out what happened so she decided to take matter into her own hands and do some detective work herself.  Will this make her the next victim or will she discover something that everyone else is missing?

A really good book and I give it a 5, so Marie you have a best seller on your hand as I see it.  Keep putting those mysteries out there.  Love this book.

Thanks so much to Tribute Publishing for including me in this tour and the review is my own.

NIV New Boys Bible

ISBN: 9780310723080
Hardback, 1486 pages
Zonderkidz Publishing

A Bible Designed with Boys in Mind
The NIV Boys Bible helps boys dig
deep into God’s Word.

Borrowed from my email from
Audra Jennings
Getting into a routine of reading the Bible can be challenging for anyone, but trying to keep the attention of pre-teen boys is especially difficult. So now there is a Bible especially developed for them. The NIV Boys Bible was designed with boys ages 9 to 12 in mind. Fun in-text features help boys dig deep into the Word and learn about amazing people, facts and stories of the Bible.

Pre-teen boys are discovering the world around them. They
are testing their boundaries and beginning to make choices that
can affect them for years to come. The NIV Boys Bible will help
boys grow into the young men God wants them to be. It will
appeal to boys and cause them to desire to spend time in a
relationship with God with its unique features such as:
  • Introductions to each book of the Bible
  • Hundreds of highlighted verses worth memorizing
  • What’s the Big Deal?—Need-to-know biblical stories
  • and people
  • Check It Out—Interesting and fun facts about Bible
  • times and characters
  • Grossology—Gross and gory stuff they never knew
  •  was in the Bible
  • Makin’ It Real—Help for applying Bible stories to t
  • heir everyday lives
This Bible includes the full text of the New International Version, the
most popular Bible translation in the world, and 12 color tip-in
pages introducing content that shows boys how they can grow to
be like Jesus. Each book of the Bible has activities that make God’s
Word more relevant than ever. It is jam-packed with customized
content and artwork that really makes the Bible stand out.
Boys will uncover all kinds of stuff that they never imagined was
in the Bible. Helpful, fun and often downright astonishing, the
NIV Boys Bible offers unique and meaningful content that
speaks straight to the heart of tween boys, drawing them i
nto a relationship with the Creator of their hearts.

My Thought:

This Bible is so pretty and colorful, it is pink what more can I say about a Bible for a girl. It is the New International version and I prefer the KJV but anything to get the message across to our young children. On the inside the pages are written in pink and purple with places to write what they think and it even has some questions for the child to answer and write in her own words.

I have an eleven year old granddaughter that is getting my copy and I believe the way that it is layed out will make her want to pick it up every day and read a little. Even a verse or two always helps. All we need to do is plant the seed and God will see that it grows.

I believe any little girl would love one of these and it you have a birthday coming up or even put it into their Easter basket. This word is so much nicer than candy. Pick up a copy for your special little girl and I am sure God will bless you.

Thanks so much to The B and B Media group for sending this to me and I have posted my own review.

Discover the Beauty of Believing
with the Faithgirlz! Bible
Contributor Nancy Rue guides girls to discover a personal relationship with God.
Every girl wants to know she’s totally unique and special, and contributor Nancy Rue helps them do just that in the revised edition of the NIV Faithgirlz! Bible. As a leading tween expert, Rue teaches girls that the Bible is real and relevant and, best of all, that the story of God and His people is also their story. Girls can now grow closer to God as they discover the journey of a lifetime, in their language, for their world

The new Faithgirlz! Bible was developed especially for girls ages 9
to 12. Everything in it is written with a tween girl’s experience in
mind, and it features the most popular Bible translation in the
world, the New International Version. The features explain
hard-to-understand things in the Bible and guide girls to put the
Scripture to work in their own lives. The Faithgirlz! Bible focuses
on sharing faith with friends and gives real ways for girls to do that.
Each book of the Bible has activities that make God’s Word more
relevant than ever. And, of course, because it was developed
for Faithgirlz! readers, they can expect to find it jam-packed
with customized content and artwork that really makes the Bible
stand out. Girls will love the cool design, the interactive features
and the feeling of knowing that God’s Word is there for them
whenever they need it. Some of the features included are:
  • Book Introductions—Girls will read the who, when,
  • where and what of each book of the Bible.
  • Dream Girl—Girls will use their imaginations to put themselves
  • in the story.
  • Is There a Little (Eve, Ruth, Isaiah) in You?—Girls will see for t
  • hemselves what they have in common with women of the Bible.
  • Words to Live By—Girls will discover great Bible verses for
  • memorizing.
  • Oh, I Get It!—Girls will find answers to Bible questions they’ve
  •  wondered about.
Nancy Rue says, “I hope the Faithgirlz! Bible will help girls grow a
friendship with the Bible, their own relationship. It asks questions,
asks them to think and challenges them to apply what they’re learning.
That’s how they’ll find a deep, personal relationship with God, rather
than just by following rules or saying what they’ve been told without
really thinking about it. Rules are important, of course, but they only
make sense when they really believe the message of the Scriptures.
That’s what this Bible is about.” The Faithgirlz! Bible is the perfect
Bible to support girls in their journey into the “beauty of believing.”
The main edition of the Faithgirlz! Bible is hardcover, but it is also a
vailable in two Italian Duo-Tone designs. For better portability,
there is also an NIV Faithgirlz! Backpack Bible. This compact
edition does not include the in-text features that the full-size e
dition has, but it does have twelve full-color pages of Faithgirlz!
fun, the words of Christ in red and a ribbon marker. An ebook
version is also planned for electronic use.

Overview

The Miller family’s move from Ohio to Montana was, for the most part, uneventful, except that Sadie Miller had to leave her beloved horse, the palomino names Paris. Still, she likes the Montana snows and her job at Aspen Ranch serving the ranch hands.
Unexpectedly, Ezra appears, the man who seems to be perfect in every way and fully intends to marry Sadie. But does she love him back? And who is this fascinating Mark who helps to rescue a dying horse and shows up at the Amish hymn–sing though he is English? Why can't she get his dark eyes and tall stature out of her mind? Now Sadie’s own close–knit family is falling apart. Mam claims her head is cluttered and unclear, and she no longer trusts herself to make a chocolate cake from scratch or to cut Reuben’s hair in a straight line. The worst part is, Dat refuses to acknowledge Mam’s struggles.
Sadie finds some refuge in Nevaeh, a black and white paint. But when a dreadful accident involving wild horses occurs, Sadie must move forward into the unknown future.
Will Dat let Mam seek professional help? Will Mam be willing to go?

My Thoughts:
The Miller family had moved from Ohio to Montana and Sadie had to leave her horse behind, she enjoys living in Montana but she so misses her horse and her Dat doen not want to have another one.

She misses her horse so much but she works on a ranch called Aspen East Ranch and loves her job.  When Ezra appears she thinks she is going to marry him but does not know if she loves him enough, then a new man appears named Mark who is English.  He just shows up at one of the Amish young people's singing and no one know what to think about him.

Sadie's family is having trouble within themselves and need some help but with Mam allow it?

A very good Amish book written by a "REAL" Amish author so be sure to pick one up if you love to read about the Amish.

Book 2 in the series will be here on review next week with another give-a-way so be sure to check back.

Paperback, 245 Pages
Tydale House Publisher
Releases April 1, 2012
About the book:

Have you ever stopped to think, "Maybe the Amish are on to something"? Look around. We tweet while we drive, we talk while we text, and we surf the Internet until we fall asleep. We are essentially plugged in and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Rather than mastering technology, we have allowed technology to master us. We are an exhausted nation. No one has enough time, everyone feels stressed out, and our kids spend more hours staring at a screen each week than they do playing outside. It's time to simplify our lives, make faith and family the focal point, and recapture the lost art of simple living. Building on the basic principles of Amish life, Nancy Sleeth shows readers how making conscious choices to limit (and in some cases eliminate) technology's hold on our lives and getting back to basics can help us lead calmer, more focused, less harried lives that result in stronger, deeper relationships with our families, friends, and God.

My Thoughts:
As Nancy Sleeth begins to write this book, she sees the world in too fast a pace.  Everyone is running her and there with no time to spend with God nor family.  Everything had to get done today.

She had the book arranged in small chapters and each one talks about a different topic.  She had the verses of the Bible to back her thoughts up as she compares the way we spend out time and the way we let our children.  I enjoy the books about the Amish and their easy slow way of life and Nancy compairs them with the way we run around so fast.

I know when I was growing up there was no computer nor did we have a TV so all my play was outside using my imagination.  Now I see my grandchilden does not ever know how to ride a bike, and I can't say a word as I set and play games on the computer myself, but now I am old.

I really enjoyed reading the way Nancy used her talent in writting this book, she has even thrown in some great receipes that are healthy.  I think you will really enjoy this book and you may even want to get one for your children that are raising children of their own.

Thanks so much to Tydale publishing for sending me this book before it even hits the shelves so that I might convey my thought to others.

Thomas Nelson, publisher

I really love to read anthing that Margaret Brownley writes, she just has a way about her that make the story come to life, she has come through again with Dawn Comes Early.
In 1895, Kate Tenney loved to write dime novels but they were just not taken well with the 549686
society and when her last book was banned she decieded to leave the city and try a new start in the Arizona Territory.  She wants to try her hand at ranching as she had wrote about in her dime novels.

When she get there and finds out that ranching was much harder that she ever thought as she had been rained in the city and had never had to do this kind of work. Kate never intended to get married as she her heart had been broken too many times to ever try again.  But, when Luke Adams came into the picture she might just change her mind.  He made her feel things that she had only written about in her novels.  Would he make her change her mind about men?  Maybe God had brought her to this desert to give her a new life in the way that her novel stated.

Thanks so much to Booksneeze for sending me this book free in return for a review in my own words.
