My Thought:
I have not read the first book in this series "The Inn at Shinning Waters" but this one is interesting on its own.
Lauren is a confused teenager and she does not want to do anything that her mother Anna ask her to do. As the 1960s was a hard time for anyone, Lauren chooses to go and live with her grandmother, but her grandmother was a very manipulative woman so Lauren goes back home to her mother.
They were of the Native American heritage and they lived by the river and in the inn called "Shining Waters". Anna worries that her young daughter will never be a responsible woman if she continues to do as she is doing now. The three generations of the women are headed for a crisis and don't know how to handle it.
The land once belonged to the Siuslaw and it has always been handed down to the women in the tribe instead of the men, so soon Lauren will be the owner, but it stays in the family.
I have got to buy the first book that came out in this series so I can really understand all that is going on.
Thanks so much to Glass Roads for sending me this book in exchange for my review.
