For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." John 3:16-17

Christmas In Dixie, Snow is on the ground.....

A newsletter about my family

This year our family has had some sad times but some great times also.  The first of 2010 in January we lost one of my husband's sisters, then on March 17, our 49th anniversary,  I lost my last sister, there were ten of us kids but now there is only one brother that is 7 years older than I and he is in an assisted living home.  I am the baby came late in life for my parents.

Sure pray that this year will be better in that area.  God did answer my prayers in so many ways this past year.  Our youngest son, he lives not far from me, but he and his wife decided that we were not going to be a part of their children's lives, so our ten year old granddaughter and our five year old grandson didn't know us, well Praise God,  he came to see us before Christmas and ate dinner with us the week of Christmas.  It was like in the Bible when the prodigal son came home I could not keep my hands off the children.  We also got to see a great granddaughter that we had never seen, she is 1 and so sweet.  This was the best Christmas in a very long time as we got to see all our children and grandchildren and even all four of our great-granddaughters.  God is so good.

This year on March 17th my husband and I will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary,  if God see fit for us to live until then.  I am blessed with such a good and Christian husband, always been taken care of and loved by him.  We have really been blessed as God gave us three sons and our baby was a girl, I had prayed for me a little girl and when he did I gave her back to God.  She is a great Christian, wife and mother of two, God is so good.  Also we never had any trouble with any of our children, I stayed at home to raise them so I was always there when they came home from school, usually had to pick them up, so they knew I was there.  Now all of them are out and married with children of their own and our two oldest sons have grandchildren.

I pray that all of you will have a happy new year and that remember who came, suffered and died for all our sins, I just can't imagine what Mary had to go through to see her Son beaten and crucified in front of her but she knew before she had Him who He was.
